MWJ CHECK-IN

Howdy? It’s very common with the Christian man (or woman) to fall, how you’re going on a very consistent plane today and tomorrow it’s on backtrack that leaves you not wanting to commit anymore cos it keeps happening, today, I’ll leave with you Psalms 37:23-24 MSG which says “Stalwart(the godly, the righteous, a good man) walks in step with God; his path blazed by God, he’s happy. If he stumbles, he’s not down for long; God has a grip on his hand.” So remember, for what’s left in this week and for the next, the righteous may fall seven times but there’s ALWAYS a provision to pick you back up so don’t beat yourself up, imagine yourself as a father or mother, if your child falls, no matter how many times you’ll run to pick them up and it gets to a point where you have to let them fall say for them to learn to walk and you as the parent know that it’s for their good so you’ll let them and if there’s an issue you’ll still run to pick them up. Remember that GOD IS FOR YOU, NOT AGAINST...

Look Back

When life gets rough, tough, or frustrating, we tend to be too caught up in it, and as Christians, we sometimes doubt God's sovereignty in all things. We forget about the things he has done before, and we wonder if He can still do more. We hope, we pray, but if it takes long, or if there's a sea of problems before us, most times, our faith wanes.    In times like that, we should look back and see what the Lord has done.    “ Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits… ”  Psalm 103:2 KJV   Life can be challenging, but in these times, I urge you to look back and see the times He fought for you. The times He helped or saved you. Those sickness bouts that He pulled you through. Those moments of needs that somehow got sorted out. The times when you were favoured. Just like David did when things went awry again.    “ When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, We were like them that dream.    Then was our mouth filled wit...

BE A DAVID

Image
Have you ever thought about who your favorite character in the Bible is? For many of us, it's often someone whose life or story speaks deeply to us—maybe because of their faith, obedience, courage, or even their wealth and influence. Today, I want us to take a closer look at a man whose life continues to inspire generations: David. Among all the great men in the Bible, God called David “a man after His own heart.” Have you ever wondered why? What was so special about David that earned him such a profound title from God Himself? This question dropped in my heart during my quiet time while studying the Word, and it led me to dig deeper into David’s story. It begins in 1 Samuel 16, where we find David as a humble shepherd boy, faithfully tending his father’s sheep. Yet, this very boy was chosen and anointed by Prophet Samuel to be king—a powerful reminder that God does not look at outward appearance, but at the heart (1 Sam 16:6-7), and that He is no respecter of persons (Rom 2:11)....

Rooted in Obedience: Lessons from King Saul’s Separation

Image
A tree uprooted from the earth cannot survive, its life severed from the source of its strength. This, dear reader, mirrors the despair King Saul endured when the Lord rejected him, stripping away His divine backing. Just as a mighty whale flounders without its ocean home, the grandest tree withers when torn from the soil. So it is with us—our vitality depends on remaining rooted in God. Scripture reveals that Saul never recovered from this separation. The chain of events began in 1 Samuel 13, where, under pressure, Saul struggled to obey God’s commands. He compromised, undermining the requirement that Israel’s king must faithfully heed God’s instructions. As Easter begins today, we celebrate Christ’s wondrous sacrifice for humanity. Let this season stir your heart to obey the Lord, especially in moments of trial.   Happy Easter!

Prayer

Image
Text:  And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1 What is Prayer? Prayer is known to be communication between individual(s) and God. We are commanded by Jesus Christ to pray always. Therefore, we should not be tired of praying as 1st Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. There are many factors that influence people's decision to not pray. It could be that they feel discouraged because their prayers are yet to be answered. While this might be enough to cause discouragement for some, we should always have in mind that God has different ways of answering prayers. It could be 'No' 'Yes' or 'Wait'. All these are answers and are for your benefits. In addition, you should be patient and obedient to His word while you pray. In conclusion:  Communicate with God always and not only when you need things from Him. Take some time to communicate with God today and always remember that He listens.

CHARACTER

Image
We will be considering two variations of this wonderful word. The who and the what. Who is a character? A character is a person being involved in the action of a story. In this life, we are all characters – pencils in the hand of the Creator. Some people are the "protagonists" who will be SEEN and ACKNOWLEDGED; while others are the supporting characters. For instance, we don't hear so much about the disciples of John the Baptist but we hear a lot about John, the forerunner of Jesus Christ. Some of our destinies are to be in the background, make way for the "protagonists" and cheer them backstage or even from the bleachers. A lot of us want to be in the limelight but we can't all be. God works in mysterious ways; His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. Isaiah 55:9 Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV [11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. ...

Patience (Not Ozokwor)

Image
I’m going to be real with you, being patient is hard. Whether it’s waiting for a text back, sitting in Lagos traffic, dealing with slow internet speed, or wondering when life will finally make sense, patience is one of those things we all wish we had but don’t enjoy developing. And yet, it’s a Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Meaning, it’s something God expects to grow in us, not something we magically wake up with. But how do you stay patient when everything around you screams, “Do it now! Get it now! Why are you waiting?!” Why Do We Even Need Patience? Patience isn’t just about sitting still and waiting, it’s about trusting God’s timing when things aren’t going our way. Think about Abraham. God promised him descendants as numerous as the stars (Genesis 15:5), but he had to wait 25 years before Isaac was born. David was anointed as king in his teenage years but didn’t take the throne until he was 30 (1 Samuel 16, 2 Samuel 5:4). Even Jesus, the Son of God, spent 30 years in pre...
