For The Awakening Mind.

-Your righteousness is not by works. Stop thinking what you do is enough to get you into heaven. What do you believe, sir? What do you believe, ma?

Do you stick to those beliefs with all your mind, soul, body and spirit?

Or are you a ‘Sunday to Wednesday to Sunday’ Christian who thinks going for weekday programmes will cause God to give you special spot in heaven though you have private sins?

Stop deceiving yourself, respectfully speaking. Go and ask for forgiveness, and do the needful. Yearn for God Himself, and make Him the Centre of your universe. The Master of your universe.

-Jesus is not just your Lord and Personal Saviour. He’s your Friend. A Friend that’s closer than a brother.

I was once in that position where I held Jesus in such high esteem where it seemed that talking to Him as though He was right beside me was an insult to His majesty.

But, dear reader, it is not. He wants fellowship, and you don’t always have to be on your knees with your hands clasped together and your eyes closed, lids tightly shut. Nope.

Besides, let’s be real. How many of us are actually concentrating on that prayer while we engage in it?

Find your best position in prayer, and engage Jesus in conversation. Engage in spiritual battles violently when necessary, but there are times when we just need that smooth communication with God- a one-on-one talk with the Father about our lives, and certain help tips from Him that we can only get if we are ready to _converse_ with Him.

-If truly you want to go deeper into a relationship with God, you must be ready to go deeper in prayer and study of the Word.

‘There are realms of glory that my world should see’, Nigerian Gospel Artiste Dunsin Oyekan sings in his song, “Open Up”.

Christianity isn’t just about asking God for something and receiving it. Let’s understand that, please. It’s about staying where He’s staying, moving when He’s moving, and seeing where He’s seeing.

That’s why some ministers will come onstage and see a house in North America, a particular room inside that house, a particular bed inside that room. There’s a spiritual awakening in their form, and they have been enabled by the Holy Spirit to attain such heights.

There are deeper aspects in the ocean of Christianity, and if we truly want to find them, we must be ready to pay the price of staying hours behind closed doors with God.

-Christianity is not a sprint race.

“The race is not to the swift”, the Bible says. Do not think that you can get to certain levels in the Christian race just like that.

You must be ready to die, die, and die again, meaning that the times when you will be tempted to go against God will be innumerable. Perfection doesn’t come at once. There can be a particular sin one would struggle with for a short or long time.

But just ensure, like the athletes in a race, that you’re striving, and do all you can with the help of the Holy Spirit to never stray from the lane you’ve been given in this Christian race.

-In summary; Love God, and keep His commandments.

Because when you love Him with all of you, you’d be ready to die for Him. Sinning against Him would kill your heart, and it’d be beyond hard to go against His precepts.

When you love Him with all of you, you’d want to bare all of your thoughts of Him, and fellowship with Him is easier.

When you love Him, you would not want to take the glory for anything, choosing to acknowledge Him instead as the be-all and end-all of your life.

When you love Him, you’d continue to chase after Him, no matter what the devil tries to bring your way.

When you love Him, you’d want to be immersed into the wonders of His presence, and you’d find realms that no one has ever seen.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

There’s a whole world out there for us! Let’s explore it with the Holy Spirit’s help. God bless you!
