There are many people who bear the name "Judas" recorded in the Bible but our focus would be on Judas Iscariot (one of the twelve disciples). Judas was human, a real person in fact. He had emotions, he had desires, he was like you, he was like me. He made some mistakes, and one of the most notorious mistakes was the betrayal of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Judas was one of the twelve disciples that Jesus chose to be "fishers of men". He was anointed. He watched Jesus perform miracles and even performed miracles and healed the sick. Woah. What changed?   Self-control isn’t exactly the most talked about fruit of the Spirit. February 14th is all about Love. How about joy? Trust to find Nehemiah 8:10 in Instagram captions But self-control? Not so much.  The thing is, self-control is often the backbone that keeps all the other fruits in check. Without it, love turns selfish and peace becomes passive. Galatians 5:22-23 tells us: "[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”- NIV Here’s the truth, self-control isn’t about suppressing who we are or being terrified of making a mistake. It’s about discipline that leads to freedom. A lot of people are alive but are not actually living. Are you really living? Is your life characterised by some daily routine: sleep, eat, greet and repeat? Hey friend, there's more to life! There's so much in store for you. Don't live a casual life to please someone or conform to a standard or to criteria that don't speak truth. Do you want to be true? God has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light to show forth His praises and to fulfill destiny. What does His word say? It says in 3 John:2 that He wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.
