Greetings child of God,
We shall begin this edition with a question. To those who watch movies just once, how do you do it? Folks, there are some things that you just wouldn't percept or understand until maybe the third time.
I recently revisited a sermon after a couple of months and I can assure you that a new wave of understanding struck me. It is also the same with the word of the Lord. I have heard of persons who say; "Oh my God! This is the third time I have read this chapter and I didn't realize this". Anyways, just putting this out there folks. Please, see that movie a second time at least, so you'd get the references.ðŸ¤
Now, to take a huge bite from the cookie, we will be reviewing some lessons from the book of Leviticus.
The book of Leviticus is honestly not the most exciting book in the Bible to study for many reasons, for one; it has few stories. But if you bravely see it through to the end, it is rewarding. Now, we have the Israelites whom the Lord loved and set apart as a people unto Himself. Even in His love, His principles were not diluted. They still had to approach Him with care because after all, the Lord is holy and His holiness cannot be contaminated. That is why, if for some reason you don't know what else to appreciate the Lord for, appreciate the Lord Jesus for His wonderful sacrifice, the ultimate sacrifice that redeemed us all so that we can rush into His presence without shame or guilt. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we no longer have to slay animals daily.
Nowadays, people have this warped perception of the love of God. They seem to think, "God loves me, so I can do whatever I want". But the truth is, the love of God brings transformation, you cannot encounter it and then continue to lead a sinful life. There's a clip I stumbled upon on the internet and it is just heart breaking on so many levels. This young lady is asked if God loves what she was engaging in ( she is an "Onlyfans" model) and she essentially says yes because God loves everybody and that it's not hurting anyone and that Satan would have a problem with it. Yes, you read that correctly.
The Lord Jesus Christ essentially demonstrates, that it doesn't matter what wrongs we are engaging in or engaged in, we should come unto Him the way we are. He accepts us in love but in that acceptance, there is TRANSFORMATION. You just cannot continue in your old ways, it just doesn't work that way. When Jesus had an encounter with the adulteress in the book of John chapter 8, His approach was different from what the people were used to, He didn't condemn her, He accepted her in love and admonished her to sin no more.
How do we go through this stage of transformation in Christ Jesus? It is only through the help of the Holy spirit that we are able to kill our old self and be rebirthed into our true identity in Christ Jesus. Born again christians are to offer good counsel and support along the way, of course. But being ultimately yielded to the Holy spirit is key.
With this, I hope to leave you with something to ponder on.
Shalom.
