Contamination.

“External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Often times, we hear a lot of controversies about Christians and sometimes people have even left the church because of one Christian or the other. This should not be so but that being said, a lot of us miss out the true essence of religion . James 1:27 tells us what God expects as religious worship, visiting, helping and caring for the helpless and keeping ourselves uncontaminated from the world, what that means to you should be taking the love of the world away from you.

When last did you even help someone in need? It’s really not about the amount of tongues or your length of prayer but love, brethren God is love. We have to help the helpless, The Bible tells us to love one another as this is how people know that we are His disciples.

1 John 2 tells us to ‘love not the world nor the things that are in the world, for whosoever loves the world the love of the Father is not in Him’

You really can’t serve two masters, are you for God or against God?

What does being uncontaminated look like to you? God is not saying don’t wear what you’re comfortable in, God is not saying don’t do what makes you happy, He’s saying don’t get mixed up in the things of the world because it has a way of taking your gaze from Him to those things, the issues aren’t with the dresses, not with the way you play, but with the ability of those things to take away your first love.

You have a job to guard your heart, you have to flee at the sight of contamination, no matter how little it is because it grows on you and we’re expected to live right so as much as you can, avoid every sin that so easily besets you and run this race.

“THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,”“Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1-2‬ AMPC‬

1 Corinthians 6:12 tells us that we shouldn’t engage in just anything not because they’re bad in general but because they can easily contaminate us, easily and that’s what why we’re to flee, run away, avoid it like leprosy.

Brethren, to remain uncontaminated, yes I know you have willpower but the Bible tells us to flee from all appearances of evil, all, not the one you can handle or the one you can’t, ALL.

I’m sorry if you’ve ever been hurt by the church, those were people, not God, God is still very much interested in a relationship with you.

And if you’ve been doing religion wrong, please hit the reset button.

God loves you and I love you.🤍
