Your Identity.

John Calvin; ‘in knowing God each of us also knows himself.’

Looking at Matthew 16:13-17, we see Jesus asking the disciples who people said He was. Peter said He is the Mesiah, the son of the living God and in turn Jesus told him who he(Peter) was. Verse 17

I’ve been in a personality crisis before and I didn’t even realize it had to be a thing but I now realize that I need to know who I am to really do stuff, be stuff in life.

Now how do I do that? I had to learn different things, it’s been a journey, I’m still on it but it became so much easier when I realized that I had to go back to my source to find myself.

What do you think it means when scripture says ‘we are made in His image and likeness’?

Have you looked at a picture of yourself before or seen your reflection in a mirror? The reflection you’re seeing is an image of you, it’s a copy of you. In the same vein, we’re copies of God.

We’re literally made in His image so when you look at yourself next time, be conscious of the fact that you’re carrying Him in one way or the other, before you insult yourself, remember that you’re embodying His breath, you’re housing His Spirit.

Jesus died so you can have Him in You, what easy access!

God is our Father, our Source, so the next time you’re going through something so tough, remember who you are, God’s image, lions give birth to lions not goats or snakes.

You’re the child of the Lion of Judah, remember who you are.
