SEEK GOD!
We live in a world where people see God as someone they run to only when they need help and if that help eventually comes they totally ignore his commandments and live their lives according to their own desires, which shouldn't be. We should not pray to God just when we need something from Him, but because we seek to know Him more and have a full revelation of his being. This doesn't mean that we can't ask for anything; Matthew 7:7 tells us to ask and it shall be given unto us, to seek and we shall find, but in order to ask in line with God's plan for us we must first know who we are in him and ultimately know him.
We cannot fully understand who we are in Christ if we don't intentionally seek God's face, and not just go to him when we need help.
A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came to give life—life that is full and good.
John 10:10 ERV
Who is the thief the Bible makes mention of here? The devil! And to be able to escape the destruction of the devil we need to know who we are in Christ so as not to fall for the wiles and tricks of the devil. The latter part of that verse says that Jesus has come to give us life and to give us more abundantly and how can we receive this life? By accepting him into our lives and grow continually in his truth and his wisdom.
I'm not promising that it's going to be an easy walk, but just as Jesus was able to calm the storm, he'll be with us to calm the storms we may experience from time to time in our lives. All we need to do is have faith in Him, and consciously seek his face in prayer and studying of his word. And we do so may God's grace continue to be sufficient for us. In Jesus name. AMEN!
